This map illustrates 3 Rivers Wet Weather's (3RWW) 2013 analysis from the EPA System Urban Stormwater Treatment and Analysis Integration (SUSTAIN) model for the ALCOSAN service area. The data on this map is intended to help municipalities comply with certain wet weather regulations, particularly the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection's geographic information systems (GIS) map submission requirements of the Phase I Municipal Consent Orders. The SUSTAIN modeling work was conducted by 3RWW and finalized May 15 2013.
SUSTAIN is a planning-level analysis that could be used by municipalities to evaluate the potential for incorporating site specific green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) methods and projects into their source reduction studies. The results are informational only. Locations for GSI must be further screened based on local information, hydraulic performance (runoff capture), and cost to determine the true feasibility of GSI for sites and projects.
More info on SUSTAIN can be found on the US EPA website. See 3RWW's SUSTAIN page or contact bdutton@3rww.org for more information about 3RWW's model run.
This open-source web mapping tool is based on the WPRDC's Property Information Extractor, which was based on Chris Whong's plutoplus. In adapting those tools for this project, we made some big changes under the hood. To utilize ArcGIS Server map services, this version swaps out the CARTO JS javascript library used by those tools for the Esri-Leaflet javascript library.
This is an alpha-stage product and therfore a work-in-progress. Please send questions, concerns, or feature requests for this software to 3rww@civicmapper.com...or, file an issue or submit a pull request on Github!
